(Pictured above) On Monday, May 22nd, Local 15 Representatives invited 50 Chief Stewards and Stewards to the Double Tree Hotel and Conference Center in Downers Grove for a meeting. President Chris Riser kicked off the meeting, addressing the group and taking questions. GWC Law, provided breakfast for the group, then educated our members on workers compensation. Senior Assistant Business Manager and Grievance Coordinator, Mike Freeman updated the group on the current state of Grievances and the plan moving forward.
Local 15 Business Reps Mark Shaulis, Mike Keating and Shawn Wachter and Senior Assistant Business Manager Jim Collins, presented and took questions on MBA, FMLA, Drug and Alcohol Policy (Halloween Agreement), Life Saving Principles, RVA’s and T&D Logistics. The Reps also went through the Local 15 Website and took suggestions on how to make the website better. Principle Financial provided Lunch for the group and talked about The Cash Balance Pension and 401k. We look forward to building on the momentum from this meeting and continuing to move Local 15 in the right direction. We know how important it is to listen to our members, and with your help, we are committed to doing what is best for our Local.
(Pictured above) Local 15 brought the ComEd Clerical Stewards into the office for a meeting on April 28th with Senior Assistant Business Manager & Arbitration Coordinator, Mike Freeman & Business Reps, Fabian Vela & Lisa Sims. Also discussed was the Flexible Work Agreement, including the need for members to ensure that both the physical board at the locations and virtual bulletin board are being updated with overtime and vacation lists regularly to ensure compliance with the agreement and the CBA. We discussed filing good grievances, requesting RFIs, completing investigations, and building cases. We reinforced that Step 1s need to be in person and how important it is to complete thorough investigations into issues and how we need to gather and document all facts before a grievance is moved to Step 2. Some other topics of discussion during the day included going over responsibilities regarding ADA and FMLA issues and concerns, the transfer of benefits when members move back and forth between Exelon and Constellation. Additionally, the 90-day training and qualifying period guidelines were discussed along with the importance of members researching jobs before taking them. Also highlighted were the Arcos rules and the current staffing needs in the Smart Meter Operations department as well as the launch of the new CC&B system and its potential impact on multiple departments.

(Pictured above) On May 23rd, IBEW Local 15 Generation Business Representatives Brian Daniels and John Richards met with Chief Stewards at the Local 15 office. Issues discussed were grievance handling, arbitration prep, duty of fair representation, bereavement leave and outage travel. President Riser, Vice President Busser, and Sr Assistant Business Manager Mike Freeman also gave updates on their roles with the group.
