In 2021, IBEW Local 15 started discussions with Constellation about a staffing Initiative agreement that would add more members to Local 15. On July 31, 2024, IBEW Local 15 Chief Stewards, Mechanical Maintenance Stewards, and Radiation Protection Stewards met at the local 15 office to discuss the Staffing initiative agreement that was close to being agreed upon. On August 21, 2024, IBEW Local 15 and Constellation signed the Staffing Initiatives Agreement. This Agreement involves the creation of a Valve Services Group, which provides promotional opportunities for mechanical maintenance employees and reduces the amount of valve contractors needed during outage season. Also, the Agreement provides additional RP technicians to perform decon work and reduce or replace contractors needed during outage season. Lastly the Agreement includes amendments to the Facilities Maintenance Agreement, which slightly increases staffing at the sites and commits the Company to properly training these members as well as increase in wages. Local 15 President Chris Riser, Vice President Ben Busser, and Business Reps. Brian Daniels and John Richards rolled the agreement out at Braidwood, Byron, Dresden, Lasalle, And Quad Cities Generating Stations.
