Job Spec:
System Technician B
Duties and Requirements
Duties:
1. To work alone or as a member of a SSG team to plan, layout, and perform the work listed below.
2. To operate all SSG mechanical power equipment
3. To install URD secondary terminations, splices, and service connections. Live secondary work is limited to 120/240 volt for the Technician B. All splices, terminations and service connections will be tagged to uniquely identify the Technician who constructed them.
4. To install URD transformers, switchgear, pedestals, and associated URD equipment. This excludes primary terminations.
5. To verify meter fitting is acceptable (mechanically and electrically) and install all associated single phase meters per current practices.
6. To be familiar with and able to properly complete and/or modify the paperwork required in conjunction with the work performed.
7. To be familiar with and able to perform energizing procedures on the secondary equipment installed by SSG.
To be willing and able to train lower level employees.
9. Able to perform all duties in the System Technician C classification.
Requirements:
1. The System Technician B will have met all the qualifications of the System Technician C classification and continue on going education and safety programs.
2. Valid CDL for all types of vehicles used by SSG.
3. Suitable judgment and personality to effectively handle public contact aspects of this position.
4. Maintain flexibility to rotate work locations.
5. Successfully complete training classes associated with the job duties.
6. Demonstrate safe work habits.
System Technician C
Duties and Requirements
Duties:
1. To assist the System Technician A or B, as part of an SSG Team, in all phases of SSG work.
2. To have learned and able to display a working knowledge of the electrical and mechanical applications of doing SSG work.
3. To have become proficient in the operations of mechanical equipment related to the installation of SSG facilities that they have had the opportunity to operate. The job duties do not include the operation of excavating equipment.
4. To be willing and able to train new System Technician C employees.
5. To be proficient in driving all vehicle types used by SSG.
Requirements:
1. Successfully complete pre-employment testing.
2. Valid CDL for all types of vehicles used by SSG.
3. Suitable judgment and personality to effectively handle public contact aspects of this position.
4. Maintain flexibility to rotate work locations.
5. Successfully complete training classes associated with the job duties.
6. Demonstrate safe work habits.
