Mark Shaulis Retirement

Congratulations Mark on your retirement. Thank you for your service to IBEW Local 15!

You will be missed.


 

After 4 years of service in USMC (1986-1990) Mark began work with Commonwealth Edison (pre-“ComEd”) on Jan 21st, 1991, as a Meter Reader in Dixon.

 

In July 1991 I attended 7 day climb school in Rockford.

 

In August 1991 I attended 1st period splicing school in Glenbard. (Old “Western Division”)

 

In December of 1993 I graduated from 3d period splicing school - Glenbard. Spent all my apprenticeship in Rockford - Rock River Division.

 

I was a steward for the UG Dept while still in system council under Local 1515.

 

In approximately 1997 I began “Demo-ing” in Training Dept for OVHD splicing / URD portion of their school and traveled Rock River Region doing a URD refresher with/for OH.

 

I Demo’d for SSG, OH, UG apprenticeship schools and for OH/UG climb schools and some familiarization for the engineering dept. APPROXIMATELY 15 YEARS.

 

Participated in Rubber goods committee with appx 30 other UG OH L15 members.

 

In 2010 was asked to help with a second run at Re-Orging the UG Dept and helping with the OH/UG jurisdictional clarification.

 

Promoted To UG CL in 2011.

 

In 2012, along with Mike O’Connor, Terry Sheridan and Brian Loomis was a part of the “small group” to finalize both endeavors and participated in the Ug rollout across the company territory.

 

Participated in an RCI at Terry McGoldrick’s request in 2016.

 

Sept 6th of 2016 began work as West Region Business Representative under Local 15.

 

Married to Sherri Lyn (36 years) (married on July 16th, 1988)

Have 2 amazing children - K-Rae (Nathan) Knowles - Callan (Grandson)

                                           Patrick (Kayla) Shaulis - Blaine and Trent (Grandsons)

 

Retired……26 July 2024 : )
