Local 15 is in the process of establishing a new EWMC chapter. EWMC stands for Electrical Workers Minority Caucus. There was previously a Char White chapter that disbanded several years ago. The new chapter is in the process of being chartered by the national EWMC. This new chapter will be comprised of members of Local 15 and will be governed by an elected Executive Board. The chapter aims to foster leadership development as well as to empower and encourage minority workers to be activists in community affairs. The chapter endeavors to be actively involved with charitable, human, civil and women’s rights organizations both within and outside of organized labor.
