EWMC hosts a pre-Easter dinner for Veterans

The Local 15 EWMC hosted a pre-Easter dinner for veterans and families at the Guesthouse Company. The Guesthouse Company provides shelter and meals for recovering individuals with various issues. The Guesthouse is located at 809 S Damen in Chicago and functions with the assistance of volunteer programs.

The dinner provided fed 65 individuals, and consisted of baked chicken, greens, mashed potatoes, veggies, spaghetti and lemon cake for dessert. The EWMC, which hosted its second dinner for The Guesthouse was honored to participate. Some of the recipients that visited for dinner sat with the EWMC members and talked about their issues and illnesses they suffer from. The dinner was covered from the general fund of the EWMC L15 account, which is furnished by its members fundraising events, and member dues.

Overall, it was a pleasurable experience as the EWMC strives to continue to make an impact in our communities.
