Amy Splan Retires


Sister Amy Splan has announced her retirement after thirty years as an Electrical Worker. Her career started as a Meter Reader on July 29, 1991. IBEW Local 1441 appointed her as Steward soon thereafter.


Her tireless advocacy for her coworkers led to other roles; elected Delegate to the IBEW International Convention, long-time Chairperson of the Elmhurst Unit Meeting, IBEW Women’s Conference delegate, EWMC Executive Board member, Exelon Employee Giving Campaign Chairperson, election to IBEW Executive Board, Mutual benefit Association Board member.


In 2013, she transferred to System Meter Shops where she continued as a Steward and promoted to Meter Mechanic Special in 2015.


Sister Splan has participated in the BAPP safety process and various Safety Councils, IBEW 15 Scholarship Committee, IBEW Sixth District Arbitration School at Champaign-Urbana.


The Executive Board appointed her to fill the remaining term of retiring Recording Secretary Christine Watkins in 2017; the membership elected her to that position in 2019.


At her last Executive Board meeting, Amy stated “I am truly grateful to all my IBEW 15 Sisters and Brothers for making my career at ComEd spectacular. Thank you.”


With great gratitude for her dedication and hard work, the members and staff of IBEW 15 wish a long and happy retirement to the newlywed Amy and her family. Thank you.
